Multilingual View

View source and translated content side-by-side for easy comparison

Overview

The Multilingual View feature allows you to see your source document and its translations side-by-side. This makes it easy to compare translations, review accuracy, and ensure consistency across languages.

Enabling Multilingual View

  1. Open a document that has been translated
  2. Click the "View" menu in the toolbar
  3. Select "Multilingual View"
  4. Choose which languages to display
  5. The editor will split into columns showing each language

View Modes

Side-by-Side

View two languages next to each other. Perfect for comparing source and target languages.

Split View

View multiple languages in a grid layout. Great for reviewing translations in 3+ languages simultaneously.

Tab View

Switch between languages using tabs. Useful when you want to focus on one language at a time.

Synchronized Scrolling

When enabled, scrolling in one language view automatically scrolls the other views to the corresponding section. This makes it easy to compare translations paragraph by paragraph.

Tip: You can toggle synchronized scrolling on/off using the toggle in the view controls.

Editing in Multilingual View

You can edit translations directly in the multilingual view:

  • Click on any translated text to edit it
  • Changes are saved automatically
  • Edits are synced across all views
  • You can edit multiple languages simultaneously

Highlighting Differences

The multilingual view can highlight sections that have been edited or differ from the original translation:

  • Edited sections: Highlighted in yellow
  • Untranslated sections: Highlighted in red
  • New content: Highlighted in green

Keyboard Shortcuts

  • Ctrl+Shift+M (or Cmd+Shift+M on Mac) - Toggle multilingual view
  • Ctrl+→ - Switch to next language
  • Ctrl+← - Switch to previous language
  • Ctrl+Shift+S - Toggle synchronized scrolling
